Why this site exists
Searching for a CAD download often leads to pages that copy each other, mix versions, or wrap someone else's installer in their own download button. This guide takes the opposite approach: it sends you to the official GitHub release, names the exact file, and writes down the date on which that was true.
The tutorial exists for the same reason. A first model is only useful if the numbers can be checked. The box in the tutorial has a volume you can calculate by hand, and every screenshot is a capture of the running app — not a drawing of what the app might look like.
How the checks work
The current edition describes SolidCraft 0.16.2, published on 19 October 2026. The checks were run on 19 October 2026 in the official web app (WebAssembly) served at docs.solidcraft.io/app/, opened in headless Chromium on macOS 12.7.6.
- Version, release date and asset names come from the official GitHub release and the project's packaging files.
- The tutorial was performed in the official web app. Screenshots were taken during that run, and the measurements were read from the app's Properties dialog.
- Sample files are published only when they were actually exported and inspected; their sizes and SHA-256 hashes are printed next to the download links.
- Where a check was impossible — for example, launching a Windows installer on this macOS machine — the page says so instead of implying a test that did not happen.
What this site does not do
- It does not host or mirror SolidCraft installers.
- It does not require an account, payment or email address.
- It does not use fabricated reviews, ratings or screenshots.
- It does not claim to be the official project.
Funding and analytics
There are no ads, sponsorships or affiliate links on this site. The current build has no analytics endpoint configured: the event helper is present in the code, but it sends nothing unless a collector URL is set at build time. See the privacy page for the exact behaviour.
Corrections
SolidCraft itself is maintained in the open. Bugs and feature requests belong on the official issue tracker. For this guide, there is currently no published inbox; the contact page explains why and where to go instead.
